Amon-Ra Shiraz
Wine
Glaetzer Wines celebrated flagship Amon-Ra Shiraz is made with exceptional old vine fruit sourced from low yielding grower vineyards near Ebenezer at the northern tip of the Barossa Valley.
Pharaoh Amon-Ra's temple at Karnak was believed to be one of the first to plant a monoculture vineyard. It was wine produced for the temple's citizens.
The fermenting juice is hand plunged thrice daily. A specific strain of neutral yeast is used to help release the fruit's natural flavours. There is extended maceration and natural malolactic fermentation.
Maturation occurs on lees for up to 18 months in new oak hogsheads, predominantly French with a small portion American. The wine is bottled unfiltered.
Vibrant purple black, Glaetzer Wines Amon-Ra Shiraz is brooding and opulent with rich dark fruit flavours, dried spice and supple tannins. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
